Shared Claude conversations quietly showed up in Google search results this weekend, and nobody warned users first.

How it happened

Public links became crawlable web pages

Sharing a chat created a static page. Without a noindex tag, Google crawled and listed it like any other site.

What leaked

Medical records, seed phrases, kids' data

Indexed pages held patient files, a crypto seed phrase, employee reviews and children's names and phone numbers.

Second time

This happened to Claude before, in 2025

Forbes found about 600 indexed Claude chats last year. ChatGPT and Grok have had similar exposures too.

Fix, not delete

Google delisted pages, but links still work

Anthropic blocked indexing by Monday. Old shared links are still live for anyone who already has the URL.
